Biography
Tommy has been a member of Blue Sox since 2014 and manager since 2017. He graduated high school as a 3-year letterman at 1B and 3B for Cincinnati / William Mason. He was a 2-time All-Conference, All SW District Player and an East/West All-Star Game MVP. After high school, Tommy went on to play at Ohio Wesleyan University where he was a 3-year letterman and Team Captain, playing 1B, 3B, and DH for the Battling Bishops. After college, Tommy became manager and first baseman for the Columbus Piranhas and Columbus Clydesdales in the Central Ohio MABL. He moved to Atlanta in 2014, earning the first base role and becoming skipper in 2017. In 2016, Tommy earned the Heart Award and in 2017 and 2018 was the recipient of the Silver Slugger.
Interesting Fact: Tommy is very active in the community. When he is not in his sales territory or on the diamond, he spends most of his spare time fostering litters of kittens and helping adopt cats at Furkids Animal Rescue.
Fun Fact
The fastest baseball ever thrown anywhere is usually credited to Cleveland Indian pitcher Bob Feller. In 1946, he threw a fastball at 107.9 mph during a pitching display at Griffith Field. The Guinness Book of World Records sites a 2010 pitch by Aroldis Chapman as the fastest, at 105.1 mph during a Reds’ game against the San Diego Padres.
