The Atlanta Blue Sox lost the lead late in a 7-3 defeat to Cherokees on Sunday. The Cherokees trailed 3-2 in the top of the eighth inning when Christian doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs.
The Sox got on the board in the first inning when Ernesto Sosa doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs.
#3 got the start for the Cherokees. He surrendered three runs on two hits over one-third of an inning.
Jakub Izold was on the mound for the Sox. He went seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out 13 and walking one. Bill Cefaratti threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Sosa went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Sox in hits.
The Cherokees totaled nine hits. #3 and Jordan each managed multiple hits for Cherokees.
